Video Production
For clients Barrmarrany, a First Nations family run, people centred enterprise promoting connection, healing and wellbeing. "Barrmarrany builds a culturally responsible path for community wellness, fostering support and healing - no fancy talk, just raw honesty, vulnerability, spirituality and determination” (2023).
The nature of the brief was to produce a poetic style video that depicts one family’s experience of healing to create feelings of connection to culture, Country, family and community that reflects the ongoing journey of wellbeing. The intent of the video is to distil the essence of the enterprise to others and allow them the opportunity to learn about the way this family is healing.
Using the Social and Emotional Wellbeing Framework (2021) as a guide to understanding this video, viewers can learn about the steps to holistic health principles that contribute to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander wellbeing.
This production uses a rich sound design of the Australian landscape that creates a calm, grounding mood through rhythm and pacing, with shots conveying the ongoing connection between Country, community and self with themes of truth telling, culture, family and mind.
